PASTOR JASON HAYMAKER
Pastor Jason Haymaker was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business from Grace College (’94) and his Masters in Ministry from Grace Theological Seminary (’99). Jason served as the associate/youth pastor in Akron, Ohio from 1994 to 1996. In October of 1996 he and wife Marcie accepted the position to come to Western Reserve as the associate/youth pastor. In 2000 Jason was asked to become senior pastor of the church. Jason testifies that his life is defined by the four passions that drive him: love for the Lord, his wife, children, and ministry. He and Marcie live in Macedonia and have two children: Caleb and Emily.

Josh Allen is the Worship & Creative Arts Pastor at Western Reserve. Prior to joining Western Reserve he was a staff Pastor at two churches in Ohio working in worship and youth, and in addition was worship leader at Catalyst Church. He holds a B.A. in Religion/Psychology from MVNU, and a Master of Divinity and a Master of Practical Theology from Ashland Theological Seminary. Two years of his M.A.P.T. education were spent in clinical counseling training through EMERGE Ministries. Josh and his wife Jen have been married for 9 years and love their life. Their desire is to be a part of a movement- where there are people meeting Jesus, transformed lives, and people connecting with God. As the Pastor of Worship & Creative Arts, he oversees the weekend services with the band and portions of production, as well as overseeing the creative elements. He loves Jesus, his wife, and the Browns.
PASTOR RON BOEHM
LIFE GROUPS DIRECTOR
Since 1986 Pastor Ron and Mrs. Chery Boehm have lived in Macedonia, where they founded and led the Western Reserve Grace Brethren Church for fifteen years. They were married in 1971 and currently have four adult children and fourteen grandchildren. Both Ron and Chery attended the Ohio State University (graduated 1972). Pastor Ron graduated from Grace Theological Seminary in 1978 (MDiv) and in 2014 he completed his doctoral work at Ashland Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry degree, DMin). For 16 years (2000 to 2016) Ron and Chery were regional church planting missionaries with Grace Brethren North American Missions, GO2, and VisionOhio. In 2010 they started LifeSprings, a Grace Brethren missional community church, which meets in a Twinsburg home. In 2016 Ron returned to serve as part-time staff with WRGC. He and Chery are also business partners with Coach For You LLC (www.coachforyou.us) through which they coach church planters, church planter wives, ministry leaders and others wanting to improve their efforts to reach their goals; they also perform church planter assessments, helping leaders better understand their strengths and abilities. Chery, besides working alongside Ron, has been a leader among women and pastors’ wives nationally. Ron & Chery especially have a heart for couples who want to serve Christ together in ministry. Here at WRGC, Ron shepherds our Life Groups and coaches leaders while Chery works with and encourages our women leaders.
PASTOR MATT SIMON
PASTOR OF YOUNG ADULTS
Matt currently leads NEXT, which is the young adult community here. He loves to teach, create sermons and study materials that challenge everyday people to follow an extraordinary God. Matt writes ferociously about music and faith and dreams of publishing a book in the near future. Before coming to Western Reserve, he graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Education and a minor in History, before completing his grad work in Theological Studies at Malone University. He currently resides in Medina, Ohio with his beautiful wife Shelby, his stepson Bryce, and a baby boy, Reed. He enjoys bears, coffee, books, and low budget movies. DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Sarah has been serving on staff at Western Reserve since 2012. Sarah loves Western Reserve, and dreams of people giving their lives to Christ- being part of a true movement of God. She has an Associate’s Degree in Visual Communications, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Photography with a minor in Art History from the University of Akron. Sarah and her husband, Brian, have two boys, Liam and Finley, and a beagle dog, Harley.
ASSISTANT TO PASTOR JASON
Cheryl started on staff in 2008 as Pastor Jason’s assistant, and is also coordinator of church special events. She and her husband, Jeff, were the first couple married at Western Reserve Grace Church, when the original church was built in 1992. They have two sons, Alex and Joe. Cheryl loves how at Western Reserve, people are welcomed ”just as they are” and can worship and learn God’s Word in a church that’s authentic, relatable and exciting.
April Decipeda is the Director of Children’s Ministry here at Western Reserve. She and her husband Raphy have been married for over 20 years and are privileged to parent 3 amazing kids, Matthew, Christian, and Sarah. April has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kenyon College and her Master of Arts in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She is licensed by the state of Ohio as a professional counselor. April is passionate about helping children and families know and experience the love of Jesus.
DIRECTOR OF PURSUIT STUDENT MINISTRIES
Heather Wortman is the Director of Pursuit Student Ministries here at Western Reserve. Over the last five years she has enjoyed ministering to youth as she served on staff at multiple Christian summer camps, and finished a year-long internship with a local youth ministry. Heather earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Specialized Ministry (focus in Camp Ministry) from Clarks Summit University in December of 2015. One of her passions is to help students find their value in God while equipping them to make an impact. Heather and the adult leaders are excited to invest in each student, utilize their unique gifts, and invite them to pursue a great God. Some of the things she enjoys most are spending time with family and friends, checking out new coffee shops, campfires, puppies, worship, retreats, and rollerblading.
